The Point is Your Maturity
By Matt Walkoe   September 10th, 2017

The Scriptures say that God has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). Then why don’t we have all that? Even though we may be the heirs of everything that the Father owns, we must be mature sons before we are able to inherit what He has provided for us. Therefore, everything that God is doing in our lives is with the goal of bringing us into maturity.

Hebrews 5:14 says that solid food is for the mature. God provides food for every spiritual level: milk for the babes, bread for the children, and meat for the mature. As a babe in Christ, you may be fed just by coming to services and hearing the Word. But as you mature in the Lord, you have to find a way to serve Christ’s Body and put your faith into action. Jesus said, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work” (John 4:34).

Every time God speaks a Word, it includes something to do. Behind every revelation from the Lord, there is a project. God uses these projects to accomplish His goal of maturing our spirits. It is important not to get so caught up in a project that the purpose behind it is lost. The truth is, the project will never be completed until you have been matured. Embrace that maturing process. It is not necessarily what you accomplish; your maturity is God’s goal.

Scriptures: 2 Peter 1:3; Galatians 4:1-3; Hebrews 5:12-14; (Matthew 6:11); (Joshua 5:11); (Exodus 5:1); (John 2:5).
