Those Who Carry His Presence
By Matt Walkoe   October 8th, 2017

During the Feast of Tabernacles our focus is on dwelling in God’s presence. The children of Israel not only lived with a physical manifestation of God’s presence for forty years in the wilderness, but the priests also carried His presence, within the Ark of the Covenant, with them wherever they went. There is a deep purpose in the heart of God for us to remember this Tabernacles experience. However, it is also important for us to be aware of the reality of God’s presence, as it exists today.

We too live in the presence of the Lord, and have been created into a people who carry His presence. We literally have become a kingdom of priests. On the cross, Christ opened up the access for God to enter man; He broke down the dividing wall so that His presence could dwell within us. And the glory which Thou hast given Me I have given to them (John 17:22). This glory is the real, living fulfillment of what God is looking for in the celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles.

There is a glory of the Lord that rests upon us. As we become freer to be ourselves and let our hearts be expressed, the appearings of the Lord will begin to happen. God is not really looking to appear to you in Tabernacles; He is looking to appear through you. He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed (II Thessalonians 1:10). Part of the Tabernacles experience is our awareness of God’s presence in one another. We cannot hide the Ark of God. If we allow the Lord to be seen, people will be drawn to us and will open their hearts to a walk with God.

Scriptures: John 17:22; II Thessalonians 1:10; (Exodus 19:6).
