What We Do  |  Areas of Ministry

Pastoral Care & Counseling

The Bible instructs the elders to “shepherd the flock of God among you” (I Peter 5:2). At Church of the Living Word, the pastors and ministries do just that in providing care and counseling to members of the congregation. These shepherding relationships are made available as a simple way for members to receive guidance and help with their daily walk with God.

Caring for the Sick and Needy

As members of the Body of Christ, we know that “if one member suffers, all the members suffer with him” (I Corinthians 12:26). Caring for the sick and needy is very important to us. We remember Christ’s final words to Peter when He said, “Do you love me? Tend my lambs” (John 21:15). This is never a burden or a task; it is our joy to love and serve one another.

Worship & Music

In the Old Testament, the priesthood who sang and brought worship before the Lord were more than musicians. They created the will of God.” — John Robert Stevens

We are blessed with many talented musicians, songwriters, worship leaders and audio technicians. Their deep love for the Lord is expressed in our worship services and in special projects, like the music for the Magical Christmas Caroling Truck and the Independence Day Show at Shiloh, our sister church in Iowa. These and other creative projects are produced in our recording studio at Living Word Publications.

The men and women who function in this ministry of worship and music share a humble desire to present their gifts back to the Lord for Him to use as He wills. They are more than musicians and technicians; they are passionate about creating God’s will through the gift of music.
