What We Do  |  Events & Fellowship

Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. Romans 12:4-5. NLT.

Church of the Living Word is a true example of family, we often gather together for fellowship and fun. From prayer groups and community outreach events to barbeques and pool parties, we dedicate our lives to being an expression of God’s family in the earth.

Biblical Feasts

Church of the Living Word celebrates the feasts that are recorded in the Bible. Why do we celebrate these biblical feasts? Read Deuteronomy 16:16. The Lord commanded that we keep these feast times: Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacles. Throughout the Scriptures, every time God did something new, He did it in alignment with these times of the year.

At the time of Passover, God delivered His people from their bondage in Egypt and also sacrificed Jesus, our Passover Lamb, for our salvation. The Feast of Pentecost celebrates the giving of the Law at Mount Sinai and the birth of the early Church in the Book of Acts. The Feast of Tabernacles commemorates God’s presence that dwelt with His people in the wilderness. It was the time of Jesus’ birth when “the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14), and it epitomizes Christ’s much-anticipated return when He and the Father will “take up their abode with us” (John 14:23).

We recognize that God is still honoring these biblical feasts today. We believe that the fulfillment of God’s many promises will continue to transpire during these times, and so we always look forward to them with great anticipation and faith.

Café L.A.

Cafe L.A.Cafe L.A.

Café L.A. is no ordinary coffee shop. On weekday mornings people come to Café L.A. to connect before heading off to work or school. A few early risers have started prayer groups to begin the day on a powerful, faith-filled note. On Sunday morning the café is open with a live audio and video feed of the service, enabling everyone to be part of what’s happening in the sanctuary.

Café L.A., which was started as a fundraiser for the school, is run by volunteers who love creating an atmosphere for people to feel at home, and enjoy their coffee, breakfast and fellowship with one another. The breakfast menu offers gourmet items like Byron’s Famous Blueberry Pancakes, made with organic ingredients whenever possible. The original Egg and Cheese Sandwich is a true favorite among our patrons, and our espresso drinks are delectable!
